William R. “Bill” Van Scyoc, 65, of Pleasant Hall, passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home.
He was born on November 26, 1959 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Robert M. and Evelyn M. Helmuth Van Scyoc. He married Brenda L. Runkle on April 14, 1989.
Bill was a 1978 graduate of the Chambersburg High School. He worked at Volvo Construction Equipment for 48 years, retiring on May 31, 2024 as a ProtoTech. Bill was a biker who enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, and woodworking. He loved to eat, especially his wife’s homemade cooking. Above all else, Bill cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, Brenda L. Van Scyoc of Pleasant Hall, he is survived by one son, Jason R. (Ashley) Van Scyoc of Upper Strasburg; one daughter, Jamie L. (Ruben) Escajeda of Shippensburg; three stepchildren, Jack (Julie) Evans of Roxbury, Angela Wenger of Orrstown, and Patricia Rhine of Upper Strasburg; nine grandchildren, Ashley Traxler, Mason Wenger, Blake Evans, Jordan Knoll, Gabrielle Rhine, Taylor Van Scyoc, Jocelyn Van Scyoc, Cain Escajeda, and Leah Escajeda; eight great-grandchildren, Lacey, Hayden, Nolan, Willow, Aubrey, Hazel, Henry, and Brantley; and one sister, Victoria J. (Michael) Rideout of Chambersburg.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing or visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a future date and time.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. Mr. Marlin Zeis will officiate.
