William A. "Bill" Hopkins III

William A. “Bill” Hopkins III, 77, of Newville, passed away the afternoon of Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on February 11, 1949 in Hagerstown, MD, the son of the late William A. and Ruth E. Hostetter Hopkins, Jr. He married Vicki L. Stake on January 26, 1974.

Bill was a 1967 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and earned his associate’s degree from Hagerstown Junior College. He worked as an auto body repairman for H&H Chevrolet in Shippensburg for countless years. A true jack of all trades, he could build or fix just about anything and even built his own home.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Vicki L. Hopkins of Newville, he is survived by two daughters, Amy E. (Matthew) Folk of Chambersburg, PA and Amanda E. (Sean) Hansen of Holly Springs, NC; five grandchildren, Kaitlynn Hansen, Nathaniel Folk, Alyssa Hansen, Mackenzie Hansen, and Thomas Folk; four nephews; and one niece.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Hopkins and Dorothy “Dottie” Jones.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Otterbein Cemetery. Pastor Gary Hornbaker will officiate.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.
