Virginia M. Stouffer, 95, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg, departed this life on the morning of Saturday, August 8, 2026.

She was born on March 15, 1931, in Shade Valley, Huntingdon County, a daughter of the late Forrest B. and Alverta S. (Shearer) Burdge and was a1948 graduate of the former Orbisonbia High School. Virginia married Donald W. Stouffer in September of 1950. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2010.

Virginia worked as a presser at the former Stanley, Co., Chambersburg, from where she retired. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Shippensburg, and the Chambersburg YMCA.

Being raised on a farm, Virginia enjoyed gardening and canning with her sisters. She and Don traveled extensively with friends after retirement. While residing at Providence Place, Virginia looked forward to the weekly Bible study and worship service; she liked playing BINGO and dominos; and always enjoyed the visits from her family and furry friends.

She is survived by five daughters, Donna F. Yost and husband Bill of Martinsburg, WV, Brenda G. Arnold and husband Clinton of Blairs Mills, Joy L. Arnold and husband Steve of Newburg, Polly J. Bard and husband Mark of Chambersburg, and Robin S. Wilson and husband Dennis of Fayetteville; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Goshorn of Chambersburg; one brother, Richard Burdge of Fayetteville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Bill, and Gerald Burdge; and one sister, Marcella Goshorn.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the Lurgan United Brethren Church. Pastor Rick Ritenour will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday morning.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lurgan United Brethren Church at 7900 Roxbury Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
