Vesta M. Davidson, 87, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Mercy House of Chambersburg.

She was born on October 13, 1938 in Newville, a daughter of the late Jacob Alfred Franklin and Florence Virginia Ott Franklin Anderson.

Vesta attended the Shippensburg Area High School. She worked as a school aide with Shippensburg Area School District before her time as a seamstress at the former Greif Co. Vesta was a member of Hopewell United Methodist of McKinney in Newburg and volunteered with the Girl Scouts, especially with the Brownies. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, watching game shows, and keeping her home spotless. Most of all, she cherished being actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Deamer D. Davidson, Debra K. (Jay) Booz, and Donna R. (Merle “Dave”) Friese, all of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren, Lauren (Steve) Lamper, Jaclyn Davidson, Jason (Megan) Booz, Nathan (Rebecca) Booz, Ryan (Sara) Davidson, Krista (Chris) Carroll, Blake (Alyssa) Friese, and Cole (ReAnna) Friese; 12 great-grandchildren, Lilyana, Morgan, Madden, Jillian, Bryce, Calvin, Griffin, Cooper, Kinleigh, Carter, Mackenzie, and Liam; one brother, Chester Franklin of Florida; and nephew, Billy Burton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Davidson, who passed away on April 9, 2017. Also preceding in death is one son, Dale L. Davidson; three brothers, Alfred, Clair, and Donald Franklin; and one sister, Verna Nelson.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Per Vesta’s wishes, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or service. Vesta will be privately laid to rest alongside her husband in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
