Spencer Martin Richardson, 27, of Blue Springs, Missouri, and formerly of Shippensburg, PA, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 4:59 a.m. in the Centerpoint Medical Center, located in Independence, MO. He died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Spencer was born August 5, 1998, at Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, VA. He was the son of his beloved mother Erin Jo Richardson of Shippensburg, PA and his father Anthony William Richardson of Kansas.
He graduated from Shippensburg Area Senior High School on May 26, 2016, with his proud family and close childhood friends by his side. Spencer was passionate about being a heavy equipment operator and started his career with Skiles Excavating, Inc. of Newville, PA. He became close with the owner of the company as a dear friend and mentor to him. He was appreciative and grateful for the opportunity. Spencer took nothing for granted! Upon moving to Blue Springs, MO, with his fiancé in July 2024, he started his career as a heavy equipment operator with K.C.M.O. Local #101.
Spencer was an amazing son, grandson, brother, uncle, friend, and dogfather to Rilo and Oden. He loved and protected his family fiercely, loyalty above all else. When Spencer called you his friend, he meant it, and he showed it, and “Good Friends” like that are hard to find.
Spencer loved and lived life to the fullest; he had no fear of anything. He loved being an uncle to his six nieces and nephews. They were his pride and joy. People were drawn to Spencer for his ability to make one laugh, smile, and brighten their day. He helped people in any way that he could.
Spencer was a member of the Shippensburg American Legion, Post #223, a member of the Elks Lodge #2509 of Blue Springs, MO, and a member of K.C. MO, Local #101 Heavy Equipment Operators Union. Most importantly he was an organ donor. He was able to save four lives after his passing. He was our HERO!
He is survived by his mother, Erin J. Richardson (companion Timothy Johanson); his father Anthony W. Richardson; grandmother Sandra L. Witter, Shippensburg; grandmother Elizabeth Milla, San Antonio, TX; fiancé Michaela Couch, Blue Springs, MO; sisters Whitney J. Appleby , York, PA, and Felicia A.
