Shirley Anna Short, 71, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Sunday, April 12, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 30, 1954, in New Jersey, the daughter of the late William J. and Gertrude (Becker) Kopas. Shirley married Roger D. Short on May 6, 1974, in Chambersburg.

Shirley worked as a sewing machine operator at the Franklin Clothing Company for twenty- six years, retiring in 2024. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, playing BINGO, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She loved being outdoors, going fishing, and her birds. Most importantly though Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband of fifty-two years, Roger, she is survived by two daughters, Billie Jo Adams and husband Kenny of Chambersburg and Christina M. Short of Shippensburg; her son, Michael D. Short and wife Nichole of Shippensburg; three granddaughters, Kelsey D. Morones and husband David of Shippensburg; Aubrea L. Worthington and fiancé Dakota L. Gordon of Chambersburg, and Breawna N. Short and fiancé Ethan R. Schwartz of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service. However, a celebration of Shirley’s life is being planned for a future date and time.
