Shelby A. Neil, 63, of Orrstown, passed away at the Spring Creek Nursing Home, Harrisburg, on Friday, October 14, 2011.
Born on July 16, 1948, in Blairs Mills, PA, a daughter of the late Elder and Elsie Gipe Parson.
On June 25, 1966, Shelby married Mr. Dwight R. Neil at Valley’s United Methodist Church, Spring Run, PA.
Shelby was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting knick-knacks. She liked to square dance and attend the Gospel Jam Music Festival in Spring Run.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dwight; one son, Michael R. (Darcie) Neil of Shippensburg; one sister, LaRue (David) Crouse of Spring Run; two brothers, Daryl (Donna Diehl) Parson of Upper Strasburg and Christopher ( Debra) Parson of Shippensburg; three grandchildren, Danielle, Desiree and Elijah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Matilda Gray and Dorothy Hockenberry.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. Interment will be private. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 3544 North Progress Ave. Suite 103 Harrisburg, PA 17110.
