Sharon L. Baer

Sharon L. Baer, 69, of Newburg, passed away the morning of Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 7, 1956 in Chambersburg, PA, a daughter of the late Wilbur T. and Mary M. Helm Kelso, Sr.

Sharon was a 1974 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School and retired as a contract worker from Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. Years ago, she loved playing bingo. Above all else in life, she loved her family dearly, and was the best mother and Grammy possible.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary L. Baer of Newburg; two sons, Justin (Linda) Baer of Hagerstown, MD, and Aaron Baer of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Sean, Annabelle, Theodore, and Lucy Baer; five siblings, Mary E. Rotz, Gary L. (Connie) Kelso, Wanda R. (John) Dunlap, Phyllis E. “Pat” (Don) Adkins, and Brian W. (Jane) Kelso; sister-in-law, Marsha Kelso; and brother-in-law, Denis (Robin) Helm.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Wilbur T. Kelso, Jr., James R. Kelso, Cyrus “Mike” Kelso, Barbara Cooper, Marinda Mathna, Tanya Kelso, Donald E. Kelso, and Delores J. Stouffer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Chaplain Ed Rabenstein officiating. Burial will follow at Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, February 16, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service of Tuesday.
