Sarah Ruth Diehl

Sarah R. Diehl, 89, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at her home.

She was born on March 10, 1936, in Concord, a daughter of the late William W. and Olive L. (Harris) Scott.

Sarah worked at the former Franklin Clothing Company for forty three years. She was a member of the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church. Her faith and her family were always the most important things in her life. Sarah enjoyed family vacations to Ocean City and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan C. Chamberlin and husband Keith of Shippensburg and Karen K. Oleary and husband Thomas of Roslyn; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth L. Scott of Mercersburg; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband Paul L. Clark, Sr.; her second husband, Ralph R. Diehl; her son, Paul L. Clark, Jr.; six sisters; and one brother.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church. The Rev. Leon Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Sunday afternoon at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church at 1095 Ridge Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
