Roy G. Reeder, 67, of Shippensburg, passed away at home on March 19, 2026.

Born December 13, 1958, in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Garnet I. and Sarah C. Crider Reeder.

Growing up, it was instilled in him to be a hard worker. He and his family had a large garden at home. They spent a lot of time together planting, harvesting, canning, freezing, and pulling weeds. They raised about 15 bushels of potatoes, which were always hand-picked. In addition to the garden, they raised pigs. Each year at Thanksgiving, they’d butcher four or five hogs. The family garden kept Roy’s family busy, well fed, and created strong work ethics.

After graduating from Shippensburg High School in 1977, Roy entered the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in California for basic training before setting sail. Among his travels, he found himself in Australia before his honorable discharge in 1981. Roy loved his time spent in the Navy and often wished he had stayed. After his discharge, he drove truck for Cressler’s Trucking, Shippensburg Leasing Corporation, and Lurgan Trucking in Shippensburg. He made many trips coast-to-coast including New York, Florida, California, and Texas. After discovering his love for trucking, he and his children, Travis and Danielle, created their own company, “Kline Rd Trucking.” Roy’s evident passion, knowledge, work ethic, and the help of his children laid the foundation for what would grow to be a very successful business.

He is survived by two children, Travis J. Reeder and Danielle A. Reeder of Shippensburg; a grandson, Weston of Shippensburg; a niece, Dory (Eric) Thomas of Newburg; two nephews, Brad and Brian Dunlap of Newburg; and a sister, Doris A. Dunlap of Newburg.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest L. Reeder and a sister Linda K. Reeder.

Roy’s funeral services and burial will be held privately. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
