Ronald Ray Heck

Ronald Ray Heck, 88, of Orrstown departed this life on the morning of Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home.

He was born on August 1, 1937, in Chambersburg, son of the late Williams J. and Mabel L. (Holtry) Heck. Ron married Genevie E. Mackey on October 3, 1959, in the Upper Horse Valley Church.

Ron was a self-employed logger from 1960 until retiring in 1996. He also drove dump truck for Charles E. Brake, St. Thomas, for fifteen years.

He was an active member of the Newburg First Church of God and enjoyed hunting in his free time.

In addition to his wife of sixty-six years, Ron is survived by five children, Dennis Heck and wife Patricia of Upper Strasburg, Randy Heck and wife Kimberly of Chambersburg, Kenneth Heck and wife Karen of Chambersburg, Deborah Leidig and husband Robert of Newburg, and David Heck of Orrstown; sixteen grandchildren; thirty two great grand children; and one great great granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dionne Marie Heck.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the Newburg First Church of God.  Interment will follow in the Keefer's Cemetery, Upper Horse Valley. Viewing will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday morning at the church.
