Ronald P. “Ron” Baer, 88, resident of Green Ridge Village, passed away the morning of Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
He was born on Friday, July 19, 1935 in Upper Strasburg, a son of the late Orval W. and Pauline E. (Pugh) Baer.
Ron retired as a self-employed dairy farmer, farming for over 32 years. He also hauled livestock for over 58 years. Ron was a member of the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Louise E. (Hock) Baer of Newville; one daughter, Patricia L. (Paul) Karper of Shippensburg; one granddaughter, Leah (Patrick) Witt of Michigan; two great-grandchildren, Carson S. and Evelyn L. Witt; and one brother, Dean O. Baer of Marion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Gail Baer and Sandra Boileau.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church, Newburg. Pastor David S. Halteman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Air Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
