Robert B. "Bob" Mellott

Robert B. “Bob” Mellott, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away the evening of Monday, April 20, 2026 at the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on November 23, 1936 in Shippensburg, a son of the late William and Goldie Barrick Mellott. He married Thelma Joyce Cook on December 4, 1955. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2024.

Bob retired as a printer for James River Co. and honorably served as a paratrooper in the United States Army with the 8th Infantry Airborne Division. An outdoorsman, he loved hunting and gardening. Bob also enjoyed painting, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one daughter, Cindy J. (Russell) Phenicie of Mercersburg; one granddaughter, Pamela J. (Herb) Hoffeditz of Broadway, VA; one grandson, Russell R. Phenicie of Mercersburg; six great-grandchildren, Herschel H. Hoffeditz, Carina J. Hoffeditz, Reuben R. Phenicie, Nora J. Phenicie, Silas E. Phenicie, and Felicity J. Phenicie; and two siblings, Judy (Bill) Pechard of Mechanicsburg and Roger (Charlene) Mellott of Shippensburg.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Richard, and Donald Mellott.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
