Robert E. "Bob" Allen

Robert E. “Bob” Allen, Sr., 83, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Tuesday, November 3, 1942, in Chambersburg, Franklin County, the son of the late Leon Mills and Pearl Elizabeth Strayer Allen.

He attended the Shippensburg First Church of God. Bob was a United States Army Veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. He retired in July of 1982 from Letterkenny Army Depot as an electrician.

Bob enjoyed working on cars, watching reruns on television, especially on Grit TV, and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is survived by six children, Patsy M. (John) Mixell of Carlisle, Carol A. Wright of Newburg, Bonnie S. (Rodney) Rine of Newburg, Melinda L. (Dave Heaton) Allen, Robert E. (Joan) Allen, Jr., and Cassandra K. (Steven) Wukovits, all of Shippensburg; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Connie Killinger of Shippensburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy R. Ott Allen, who passed away February 17, 2017; one son, Paul William Ott; and one sister, Nedra Jean Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor George Strayer officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by The Minutemen of the American Legion Post #223. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
