Ray Allen Pugh, 73, of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Friday, January 25, 1952 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Raymond Irving and Esther June Diehl Pugh.
He was a 1969 graduate of the Chambersburg Senior High School. He retired from Fort Detrick as an Executive Assistant with 30 years of service. Ray served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.
Ray was a member of the Amvets #224, Chambersburg, serving as post commander twice. He was a life member of the Landis McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, and a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post # 1599, both in Chambersburg. He was also a life member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg, and a member of the Orrstown Masonic Lodge #262.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid NASCAR fan
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Suzanne Bietch Pugh, whom he married June 1, 1984; two sons, Travis A. Pugh, Chambersburg, and Jeffery A. Miller, Shippensburg,; two daughters, Penny A. Pugh, Shippensburg, and Leslie R. Cordero, Gettysburg; one brother, William D. (Denise) Pugh, Fayetteville; one sister, Cheryl A. (John) Runshaw, Shippensburg; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
