Phylis J. Starr

Phylis J. Starr, 93, formerly of Colorado, late of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at her home.

She was born on February 24, 1932, in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of the late William and Flora (Buyse) Brown.

Phylis worked in the health care field as an early surgical nurse.  She then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, which would lead her to a career as a school nurse.

She is survived by nine children; fifteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Phylis was preceded in death by both of her husbands, William G. Bye, and H.W. Starr.  

Her memorial service will be held in Colorado, at a future date and time.
