Patsy JoAnn Singleton

Patsy JoAnn Singleton, 89, of Newburg, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on Novmeber 29, 1935, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Ernest and Elsie (Angle) Coy. Patsy married Arthur E. Singleton on October 15, 1955.

Early in life she worked at the former Penn Pants, but then spent the majority of her working life employed at Hoffman Mills, from where she retired in 1992.

Patsy most recently attended the Green Spring First Church of God and was a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Shriners International. At home she raised Appaloosa horses in the past and really enjoyed tending to the lawn and mowing grass. Patsy also liked jigsaw puzzles and collecting teddy bears, but above all else she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of sixty-nine years, Arthur, she is survived by four sons, Arthur Edward Lee Singleton of Newburg, Randolph Van Singleton of Walnut Bottom, Joseph Patrick Singleton of Florida, and Daniel Edward Singleton of Chambersburg; one daughter; grandchildren, Austin Alexander Singleton, Daniel E. Singleton, Jr., and Chloe Mae Singleton; several great grandchildren; three siblings, Sandy Hummel of Newburg, Virginia Coons of Newville, and Ernest Coy, Jr., of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents.

Her graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Pastor Phil Steele will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
