Patricia A. Piper

Patricia A. Piper, 93, of Chambersburg, departed this life on the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on February 28, 1932, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Jesse and Lydia (Myers) McCrae. Patricia married Leroy Piper, Jr., on October 6, 1951, in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2005.

Patricia was primarily a Navy spouse and homemaker throughout her life, supporting her family through many moves over the years. She also worked in food service at the Carlisle Hospital for a period of time later in life. In recent years Patricia became a pretty avid reader and she was always known for her wonderful memory, in being able to remember family member’s birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

She is survived by a son, Gary L. Piper and wife Rose of Chambersburg; five grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her sister, Linda K. Loy and husband Paul of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by a son, Gregory L. Piper; and two brothers, Jesse and John McCrae.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Jeff Ehko will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
