Our beloved daughter, Ohana Grace Basilio Reed, was born sleeping and into the arms of our loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 5, 2026, at 11:14 a.m., after 16 weeks and 3 days of being deeply loved here on Earth. Weighing 3.17 ounces and measuring 7.87 inches long, Ohana was beautifully and wonderfully made. She had the most perfect little hands and feet and the sweetest, cutest nose. Every tiny detail of her was precious, a reflection of God’s delicate craftsmanship.

Though we would have given anything for more time with her, Ohana’s life was meaningful, treasured, and filled with immeasurable love. She knew only the warmth and safety of her mama’s womb, the sound of mama’s heartbeat, and the unconditional love of her entire family. Carrying her, knowing her, and being chosen to be her parents will forever remain one of our greatest honors.

Ohana was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Ruthie Danielle Basilio Reed, who was born into Heaven on October 21, 2025. Although we may never understand why either of our precious daughters could not remain with us on this side of Heaven, we find comfort in knowing that Jesus is holding them both close. Perhaps, even now, our two beautiful girls are together in Heaven’s nursery, safe in the arms of their Savior and surrounded by a love more perfect than we can comprehend.

It is because of Jesus Christ that we continue to hold tightly to the promise and hope of Heaven. We know that death does not have the final word and that this heartbreaking goodbye is only temporary. Until the day we are reunited, we will carry Ohana with us in everything we do, speak her name with love, and make sure her life and memory are never forgotten.

We pray that Ohana’s life, memory, and legacy serve as a reminder of our Heavenly Father, whose ways are higher and greater than our own.

Ohana is forever cherished by her parents, Brianna Lane (Gipe) Basilio Reed and Daniel Basilio Reed, and forever adored by her big sisters, Avery Mazzola and DoraMay Basilio Reed. She is also deeply loved and mourned by her extended family (The Cianciulli, The Gipe and The Reed Family) and by every person whose heart was touched by her brief but beautiful life.

The family kindly asks for prayers of peace, comfort, and strength during this deeply painful time. For those who feel led to offer additional support, memorial donations may be made to Ruthie and Ohana’s Caring Cradle Fund, created in loving memory of both sisters to help provide comfort and dignity to other grieving families. https://gofund.me/444f9f79d

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever and always our baby—our sweet Ohana Grace, held in Heaven until we can hold her again.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose"- Romans 8:28
