Nancy Elizabeth Mellott, 81, departed this life on the morning of Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Village at Luther Ridge, Chambersburg.
She was born on September 7, 1944, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Marion and Helen (Mangle) Hall. Nancy married Jack G. “Digger” Mellott on November 14, 1970. He preceded her in death on February, 23, 2024.
Early in life Nancy worked at the former Shippensburg Gas Co. and the U.S. Army War College Carlisle Barricks in the health clinic. However, she spent the vast majority of her working life as an accounting technician at the Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 2008, after thirty four years of employment.
She was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God. In her free time Nancy enjoyed reading, traveling, and working in the flower gardens around her home.
She is survived by four daughters, Michele R. Brandt and husband Carl of Shippensburg, Susan Robinson and husband Warren of Newburg, Shanda L. Mellott of Waynesboro and Donna Swanger and husband Wade Gettysburg; one son, Jack G. Mellott, Jr., and wife Sharon of Roxbury; nine granddaughters; one grandson; four great granddaughters; four great grandsons; her sister, Betty Fogelsanger of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Mangle.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Gary Hornbaker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
