Michael Mills passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the age of 49. Mike was born in Chambersburg, PA, on March 24, 1977. He is survived by his wife who he adored, Nicole Mills. They were married on May 27, 2017 and have built a beautiful life together in Newburg, PA.
The sudden loss has been profoundly painful for family who have many cherished memories of experiences they shared and the simple presence of a compassionate, honest man. He brought warmth, humor and genuine care into every interaction. He was known for his kindness, willingness to help others and the ability to create a positive atmosphere even under pressure. Whether through sharing a laugh, providing advice, or quietly supporting those in need, Mike left a lasting impact on everyone around him.
He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on projects in his garage, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed kayaking and fishing. He was a collector of antique signs and memorabilia and was very proud of his 1982 John Deere lawn mower. Mike was known for his unique laugh and kind, beautiful eyes. He was a devoted family man, a trusted friend, and a respected member of his community. At work he displayed both skill and integrity. He was a mentor to new employees who looked up to him for guidance. He began working at Palmer Construction in October of 2000.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Sade Goshorn and Zane Zeigler. His parents Dale and Terry Mills, and his mother and father-in-law who loved him as their own son, Ronald and Carol Karns. His six fur babies- 3 dogs and 3 cats. Siblings Jake (Linda) Mills, Greg (Connie) Mills, Keith (Kristi) Mills, Kim (Nevin) Stevens, Karen (Kenny) Booher. Other family member include- Sister-in- laws, Tara (Matthew) Robison and Rena (Croydon) Ostriche, brother-in-law Ronald ‘Butch’ (Dawn) Karns and close friend of the family Mandy Bert Yohe. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Doug Cobern.
His memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved him. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Troy Howell officiating. A visitation will be held two hours prior from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. W., Chambersburg, PA 17201 to honor Mike’s love of animals.
