Mary Louise Chamberlin, 90, of Chambersburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on the evening of Thursday, April 23, 2026.
She was born on September 9, 1935, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Violet L. (Deibert) Piper. She was a 1955 graduate of Shippensburg High School.
Mary was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church. In her free time she enjoyed word searches and building jigsaw puzzles. Most importantly, Mary loved and cherished spending time with her large family.
Mary is survived by four sons, Kenneth E. Chamberlin and wife Sharon of Shippensburg, Keith E. Chamberlin and wife Susan of Shippensburg, Richard L. Chamberlin and wife Carol Ann of Shippensburg, David B. Chamberlin and wife Laura of Shippensburg; two daughters, Darlene K. Hockensmith and husband Terry of Chambersburg, and Tammy J. Varner and husband Donald of Shippensburg; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; son-in-law, Chester Thomas of Shippensburg; one sister, Thelma V. Barrick of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two daughters, Lisa D. Chamberlin and Sharon A. Thomas; a grandson, Eric K. Chamberlin; two brothers, John J. and Paul W. “Zip” Piper, Jr.; and three sisters, Vivian G. Gilbert, Doris M. Glessner, and Karen J. Varner.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 1, 2026, in the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church, Shippensburg. Pastor Leon Davis will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the service on Friday morning at the church.
