Marshall K. Mailey, 82 of Shippensburg, sadly passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Shippensburg Health Care Center. He was born September 9, 1943 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Frederick and Lavina Jean (Unger) Mailey.
Marshall was a graduate of both Cedar Cliff High School (1961), and the University of Arkansas (1966). His career as a Physical Education Teacher for the Shippensburg Area School District began in 1966 and lasted for 31 years. He also served as a Park Ranger at Caledonia State Park for nearly 20 years. During his tenure as a teacher, he served as an assistant football coach at Shippensburg Junior High School and as head baseball coach at Shippensburg Senior High School. He was particularly proud that his baseball teams won the Blue Mountain League Title twice.
Marshall attended Memorial Lutheran Church in Shippensburg and was a member of The Mechanicsburg Club. He particularly enjoyed archery, tennis, hunting, and bird watching, and was an avid fan of University of Arkansas sports and Penn State University football.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Shawn Mailey (Helena) of Royersford, Mark A. Mailey of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Sarah E. Mailey of Gettysburg; grandchildren, Anastasia, Alexandra, Connor, Aryanna, Colin, and Eva; brothers, Kris Mailey of Etters and Rick Mailey (Linda) of New Cumberland; sister, Kathy McDonald of Camp Hill; his friend and former wife, Sandra Mailey of Shippensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home in Shippensburg on Friday, January 16th from 5-7pm. Additionally, visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, January 19th at Parthemore Funeral Home in New Cumberland. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30am, with the funeral service beginning at 11:30am.
