Marlin Dean Chamberlin, 89, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the UPMC West Shore Hospital.

He was born on August 25, 1937, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Urie and Blanche (Rotz) Chamberlin and married Anna L. Sheaffer on May 29, 1957.

Earlier in life Dean worked for R.A. Bender, Mt. Cydonia, and the former Valley Quarries, now New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Shippensburg Covenant Brethren Church and a life member of the Vigilant Hose Co.

In addition to his wife of sixty-nine years, Anna, he is survived by three daughters, Shirley C. Gaver of Chambersburg, Peggy S. Reed of Shippensburg, and Darlene R. Johnson of Shippensburg; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Berkley Chamberlin of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Chamberlin, Bertha Yocum, and Sarah Heefner, and one brother, James Chamberlin.

His graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 4, 2026, in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pastor William Hall will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Covenant Brethren Church at 253 East Garfield St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
