Lois Arlene Railing, 91, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Celebration Villa, Shippensburg.
She was born on October 7, 1933, in Otterbein, a daughter of the late Robert and Esther (Rebok) Reese. Arlene married Chester T. “Cork” Railing on May 13, 1950, in the Hagerstown Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2014.
Arlene was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed making flower arrangements for around her home, sewing, and baking. Arlene was a longtime member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church.
She is survived by three children, Terry L. Railing and wife Angela, Patricia Railing, and Barbara J. Plasterer and husband Kevin, all of Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Kim Stouffer, Daniel and Adam Railing, Lauren Plasterer-Wilder, and Kyle Plasterer; seven great grandchildren, Sami and Abby Stouffer, Elijah Crumlich, Nicholas and Noah Wilder, and Makenna and Nolan Plasterer; one great great granddaughter, Remi Carmack; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Reese; and her sister, Gladys Shadle.
The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service. Arlene will be laid to rest alongside her husband during a private graveside service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Street United Brethren Church at 17 N. Penn St. Shippensburg, PA 17257.
