Lois Jean Foltz, 94, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle, PA.
Born Tuesday, June 10, 1930 in Upper Strasburg, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late John Elder and Fannie Ethel Bricker Pugh.
Lois retired after 39 years, as the owner and operator alongside her husband of Foltz Sunoco Gas Station in Shippensburg. She also worked as a food service preparer at Letterkenny Army Depot.
She was a member of the Newburg First Church of God, and their Solid Pillars Senior Group, and a former member of the Shippensburg AARP. She was also a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women Group # 3, and actively participated in selling hamburgers, hotdogs, and lemonade at their food stand at the Shippensburg Community Fair. Lois also took home many ribbons for her baked goods and flowers. Lois enjoyed gardening, baking, and traveling the United States with her husband.
Lois is survived by one daughter, Judy K. (Robert) Shively, Sr., Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Robert H. (Renee) Shively, Jr., Troy L. (Sonja) Shively, Jennifer Byers, John M. (Alicia) Byers, and Andrew (Talia) Byers; 12 great-grandchildren, Allyson, Bradley and his wife Kristen, Rachel, Elijah, Isaiah, Seth, Anthony, Adrianna, Jamison, Jassper, Rhealynette, and Olen; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Carley; son in-law, The Rev. John E. (Emma) Byers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, Ralph V. Foltz, who passed away June 13, 2024; one daughter, Donna (Foltz) Byers; one brother, M. Bricker Pugh; and one sister, Pauline Baer.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newburg First Church of God, with Pastor Megan Gustafson, and Pastor John Byers officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newburg First Church of God, 260 Newburg Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
