Linda R. Nenninger

Linda R. Nenninger, 89, of Walnut Bottom, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born Tuesday, June 16, 1936 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Lester A. and Mary Fehl Fogelsanger.

She owned and operated Linda’s Beauty Shop in Carlisle, before relocating to Shippensburg, closing in 1983. She then went to work at the former Hardee’s in Shippensburg for 17 years, retiring in 2001.

Linda enjoyed crafts, reading, jig saw puzzles, and camping with her family, for about 34 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Diann (Daniel) Ryan, Carlisle; one granddaughter, Taylor A. (fiancé Peter Ziemkiewicz) Ryan, Carlisle; one brother, Lester D. (Andrea) Fogelsanger, Newville; a very special niece/caregiver, Vanessa Hovetter, Walnut Bottom; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Nenninger, who passed away February 20, 2023; three sisters, Dora K. Lautsbaugh, Violet A. Frehn, and Zelona F. McBeth; and one brother, Charles M. Fogelsanger.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ridge Cemetery, with Pastor Sue Hardman-Zimmerman officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation.
