Larry J. Highlands, Sr.

Larry J. Highlands, Sr., 88, formerly of Shippensburg and resident of Paramount Senior Living, passed away the evening of Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on Thursday, March 18, 1937 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Jack and Mary Willhide Highlands.

Larry was a 1955 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. Early on in his working life, Larry was a journeyman machinist. He then worked in engineering research at TB Woods and was a manufacturing engineer with Domestic Pump until its closure. Larry was also co-owner of Kittatinny Manufacturing Services in Shippensburg until his retirement.

Larry was a member of The Open Door Church in Chambersburg, NRA, and Shippensburg Fish & Game. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald D. (Cristy) Highlands of Chambersburg and Gregory S. (Kelly) Highlands of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren; one sister, Sherry (Drew) Stouffer of Shippensburg; and his second wife, Linda Mae Highlands of Chambersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances K. Shearer Highlands, who passed away on April 21, 2011. Also preceding in death are two children, Larry J. Highlands, Jr. and Barbara Highlands; and one sister, Judy Lindsey.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Mike Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
