Kenneth E. Stoner, Jr., age 71, of Hubert, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 6, 2026 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice Hospital in Wilmington, NC. He was born on April 5, 1954 to the late Kenneth E. and Rosey M. (Bowermaster) Stoner of Shippensburg, PA.

He attended the Shippensburg Area Senior High School and completed the Automotive Mechanics Program offered through the Franklin County Vocational Technical School. He was a 1972 graduate of both programs.

Ken started work as a construction worker and later as an Operator/Foreman for Reisinger Construction Co. He then worked for Verizon for decades. He started in their Business Office in Harrisburg, PA and later worked as a Systems Technician for Verizon at the Naval Support Activity Base in Mechanicsburg. Because of his skills, Ken was the one to go to when things needed to be repaired whether it was carpentry, electrical, plumbing or mechanical. He was very generous with his time and could be found helping family and friends with their home projects.

Ken enjoyed camping in the outdoors and was known as an excellent hunter; but fishing was his passion. He fished from Canada, along the East Coast down to Florida in both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of America with family and friends and was awarded multiple fishing citations.

During his younger years, Ken attended the South Mountain Chapel Brethren in Christ Church in Shippensburg and later attended services at the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.

He is survived by his partner Donna Rhoads of Hubert, NC, and his siblings; His twin; Bonnie Hockley, sister Connie, and brother Wayne P.

Stoner (Laura) of Carlisle, PA and Ron E. Stoner (Nancy Tannalfo) of NH. He also has two half-brothers; Tom Stoner of AZ and W. Eugene Stoner of IL.

Ken was preceded in death by both parents and his half-brother Carl Hosfelt.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in Shippensburg, PA. Pastor Gary Hornbaker will be officiating. Burial will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery, Walnut Bottom, PA. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
