Kenneth Lee Geesaman, Sr., of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 29, 1937, in Quincy, PA, the youngest child of the late Josiah E. and Violetta K. Snyder Geesaman. He was the loving husband of Nina Joan Berkstresser Geesaman. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year on his 89th birthday. He was a 1955 graduate of Quincy High School and later graduated from the Chambersburg Business School in 1957, where he met his wife.
Kenneth was the President of McCune Lumber in Shippensburg. He was an avid golfer, golfing 3-4 times a week into his 80s and enjoyed playing cards. He was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts and the Boston Red Sox. He loved to travel earlier in life and especially loved annual vacations in Ocean City, NJ with family and friends. He was always the life of the party and kept his orneriness until the last days. He will be remembered for creating his own rules when playing croquet to benefit himself.
Kenneth was very civic-minded. He was a former president of the Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, former member of the Shippensburg Jaycees, and an original founder and president of the Shippensburg Area Midget Football Association, founded in 1974, of which he was most proud.
He was a member of Prince Street United Brethren Church. Kenneth was also a member of Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, Hub City Club, and Minnequa Social Club.
He will be deeply missed by his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Cindy (John) Varner and Sandi Geesaman (Andy) Fleming; one daughter-in-law, Andrea Geesaman; five grandchildren, Sean (Miranda) Varner, Amanda Varner (Glenn) Edwards, Zachary Geesaman, Bennett Geesaman, and Rachael Geesaman; three step-grandchildren, Mathew, Justin, and Christopher Varner; four great-grandchildren, Charles, Alice, and Daphne Varner, and Elias Geesaman; four step-great-grandchildren, Achilles, Brinley, Grady, and Jacob Varner; and many nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth “Tiger” Geesaman, Jr.; and three siblings, Kathryn M. Geesaman, Hilda L. Irving, and Josiah E. Geesaman, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Prince Street United Brethren Church with Pastor John Shadle and Pastor Jim Bolich officiating.
