Kelly Kirby, Jr.

Kelly Kirby, Jr., 84, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his home.

He was born on September 26, 1941 in Sarton, WV, a son of the late Kelly and Stella Morgan Kirby, Sr. He married Martha Rae Suders in 1971. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2022.

Kelly worked as a foreman for AWI for 30 years. Following his time with AWI, he was a roof estimator for R&R Roofing for 15 years. Kelly was a lifetime member of the Hub City Club, Shippensburg. An avid outdoorsman, he had a love for hunting and fishing. Kelly also had a passion for dirt track racing and enjoyed riding four-wheelers. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Larry (Claudia) Kirby, Edward Kirby, and Kimberly (Merle) Varner, all of Shippensburg; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gary (Sharon) Kirby of Carlisle.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Per Kelly’s wishes, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or service.
