Kathy S. Coppens, 62, of Orrstown, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Monday, November 12, 1962 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Kenneth H. and Elizabeth B. Reineman Bender.
Kathy worked as an office manager of a large family practice for 38 years and then as a receptionist at a dermatology practice for two years. During her courageous 11-year battle with cancer, she rarely missed a day of work. She was a true servant leader, always putting herself last and never complaining. Her children especially always came first in her life. She was known for her radiant smile and peaceful demeanor. Kathy was a true testament of God’s goodness and a vessel of His love to everyone she met.
Kathy loved the beach, especially the Outer Banks. She also enjoyed going to craft shows, loved ice cream and her dog Button, and serving the Lord wherever she could. She especially loved worshiping with her family.
A faithful member of King Street Church, Kathy served as a volunteer with Once More Ministries, Vacation Bible School, Nursery Helper, and Night To Shine.
She is survived by two children, Karli E. Rock of Lancaster and Kenneth J. Coppens and his fiancé Savannah Washco of Gastonia, NC; and three siblings, Shirley Porter of Chambersburg, Debra Brumbach and husband Jim of Boyertown, and Gary Bender and wife Linda of York.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Dennis Bender.
