Karen L. Orndorff

Karen L. Orndorff, 66, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Friday, August 22, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on June 15, 1959 in Chambersburg, a daughter of Doris Gough Strayer and the late John G. Strayer.

Karen attended Shippensburg High School and worked as a seamstress for U-Wanna-Wash Frock Co. and Franklin Clothing. She also faithfully attended South Mountain Chapel. Karen loved her grandchildren and being present in their lives. She also enjoyed going on vacations and looked forward to family functions, especially family dinners around the holidays.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Danny E. Orndorff of Shippensburg; one daughter, Stacey (Jodie) Varner of Newville; three grandchildren, Logan Orndorff, Makayla Orndorff, and Kaitlinn Varner; five great-grandchildren; four siblings, Carl (Kathy) Strayer, Tammy (William) Johnston, and Jennifer (Paul) Fahnestock, all of Shippensburg, and Kimberly (Purnell) Dressler of Millerstown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jolene Shields.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor David A. Erisman officiating. Burial will follow in Cleversburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
