Karen Collard

Karen Sue Collard, 79, of Oakville, passed away the afternoon of Monday, March 20, 2023 at the Forest Park Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.

She was born on March 10, 1944 in Geneva, NY, the daughter of the late Paul William and Margaret Frances (Holleran) Snyder.

Karen worked as a travel financial officer for American Express. She enjoyed vacationing with her family and having sleepovers with her granddaughters, Marissa and Alicia and their friends. Karen was very active in her granddaughters school activities. She loved to read, watch sports, carve wood, and took great pride in keeping a clean and tidy home. Karen was also a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg.

She is survived by her daughter, Shawnna M. (Bryan) Chamberlin of Oakville; two granddaughters, Marissa A. Chamberlin of Allentown and Alicia M. Chamberlin of Oakville; one brother, Ronald (Barbara) Snyder of Geneva, NY; three nieces; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Paul Snyder; one nephew, John Snyder; and Doodle the dog.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg. Father Benjamin J. Dunkelberger will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the church. Karen will be privately laid to rest at the Glenwood Cemetery, Geneva, NY at the convenience of the family.
