John Asher Coldsmith, Sr.

John A. Coldsmith, Sr., of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.

Born Friday, July 28, 1933 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Harry David and Martha Smith Coldsmith.

John was a member of the Fayetteville First Church of God. He retired from David H. Martin Excavating as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by five children, John A. Coldsmith, Jr., Chambersburg, Debra (Russell) Rouzer, Shippensburg, Frank Coldsmith, Chambersburg, Samuel Coldsmith, Hagerstown, MD; and Paul A. (Tammy) Coldsmith, Shippensburg; two brothers, Irvin Coldsmith, Chambersburg, and Arthur Coldsmith, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Jesse, Dustin, and Brandon Coldsmith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Ellen Helm Coldsmith; second wife, Dorothy Louise Creager Coldsmith; one brother, William Coldsmith; and one sister, Isabelle Butts.

There will be no public visitation or services scheduled at this time.
