Jimmy L. Holtry

Jimmy L. Holtry, 75, of Shippensburg, passed away early Tuesday morning May 27, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Monday, May 15, 1950 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Leslie L. Holtry and Helen Margaret Mixell Holtry.

Jimmy was a member of the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church and the Vigilant Hose Volunteer Fire Company, both in Shippensburg.

In his early years, Jimmy worked for Valley Quarries and Clouse Trucking. He went on to retire from Martin’s Potato Rolls, where he worked as a mechanic. After retirement, he went back to work for Boyo Transportation.

Surviving Jimmy is his loving wife of 31 years, Judy A. Burchfield Holtry; one daughter, Bobbi Jo (Michael) Pryor; one step son, Marlin J. Darhower, Jr.; six grandchildren, Skylar J. Middaugh, Willow Pryor, Airel Darhower, Austin Darhower, Alexis Diemler, and Alec Darhower; five great grandchildren, Aleaha Darhower, Carter Darhower, Amara Beam, Ayden Darhower, and Brantley Darhower; two brothers, Gerald and Barry Holtry; one sister, Nancy Williams; and his two furry companions, Daisy and Minnie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one niece, Meredith Siegle.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church, with The Rev. Leon Davis officiating. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
