Jeffrey Wade Mangle, 66, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Monday, June 16, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 5, 1958, in Chambersburg, a son of Dawn E. (Reed) Mangle and the late Ronnie L. Mangle. Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Brenda K. Glass on January 17, 1981, in the Shippensburg Covenant Brethren Church. In high school Jeff was on the wrestling team and enjoyed participating in soap box derby races.
Jeff was a well-known mechanic in the Shippensburg area starting in 1980 with Mangle’s Garage and most recently, Jeff’s Automotive, which his daughter Kim now operates. His favorite brand to own and work on was always Chevrolet and over the years Jeff raced oval dirt track and did sand drag racing. He was also a member of the Franklin County Tractor Pullers, in the 4 x 4 and small block classes.
Jeff was a former board member of the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors and was a member of the Shippensburg Covenant Brethren Church. In his free time, he enjoyed boating, riding Harley’s, car shows, and camping. People that knew him knew how much of a jokester and people person he was. Jeff enjoyed being social and could talk to anyone. At home Jeff was always a wonderful provider – husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
In addition to his mother, Dawn, and wife of forty-four years, Brenda, he is survived by two children, Timothy W. Mangle and wife Nicci of Murfreesboro, TN, and Kimberly J. Diehl and husband Ike of Shippensburg; ten grandchildren, Mackenzie Johnson, Jordan Egolf, Zander Mangle, Landon Mangle, Carter Mangle, Brinley Mangle, Ryett Mangle, baby Mangle who is soon to be born, and John and Trista Diehl, a great grandson, Jackson Warren; his brother, Lonnie Mangle and wife Gail of Shippensburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Shippensburg Covenant Brethren Church. Pastor Bill Hall and Rev. Harold Yeager will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cleversburg Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning at the church.
