Janet L. McBeth

Janet L. (Orris) McBeth, 93, of Walnut Bottom, went to be with The Lord on May 27, 2026 at Green Ridge Village.

Born on January 21, 1933 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Albert and Marion Arietta (Kitzmiller) Orris.

Alongside her husband, Lee McBeth, Janet founded McBeth Bus Company in 1963, which later became Lee McBeth & Sons in 1985. Following Lee’s retirement, she served as President from 1985 onward. Earlier in life, she was employed at Domestic Pump and Manufacturing Company in Shippensburg. Janet was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Walnut Bottom, where she faithfully served on several committees throughout the years. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers, and playing games. In her earlier years, she was also an avid bowler and golfer.

She is survived by one daughter, Kitty (McBeth) Henry and her husband Keith of Carlisle; one son, Michael R. McBeth and wife Leslie of Shippensburg; one sister, Doris (Orris) Feather of Hanover; eight grandchildren, Bryan Henry and wife Jeanie, Jessica Smith and significant other, Chris Fry, Seth Henry, Leilani Smith and husband Josh, Corey McBeth and wife Jessica, Carly Kiner, Jennifer Steffan and husband Gary, and Christopher McBeth and wife Yvette; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee D. McBeth; one son, Stephen L. McBeth; two grandchildren, Michael and Kyle; and two sisters, Anna Lee (Orris) Norcross and Marion R. (Orris) McMullen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom with Pastor John Hardman-Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held following the service and burial at the Fellowship Hall at the Church. Food will be provided.
