Janet L. Grove

Janet L. Grove, 95, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Shippensburg Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

She was born on Wednesday, May 7, 1930 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late L. Roy and Emeline E. Zullinger Alleman.

Janet was a 1950 graduate of Shippensburg High School and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Orrstown. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and working in the garden. Janet was also a skilled seamstress who often made her children’s clothes.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Lester) Mooney and Diane (Steven) Karper; four grandchildren, Anthony (Malinda) Parson, Cindy Alleman, Jessica Compel, and Nathan Mooney; four great-grandchildren, Alexis (Nick) Green, Steven (Rebecca) Alleman, Madison Mentzer, and Rowan Mooney; and four great-great grandchildren, Hope, Mason, Payton, and Owen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren J. Grove, who passed away on January 5, 2023. She was also preceded in death by one great-grandson, Logan Mooney.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hall Cemetery with Pastor Candace Arnold officiating. Per Janet’s wishes, there will be no public viewing.
