Janet L. Arnold, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away peacefully the morning of Thursday February 19, 2026 at the Orrstown Personal Care Home.
Born April 22, 1939 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Richard C. and GlenCora (Bovard) McIntire. She married Ronald E. Arnold on January 6, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2013.
Janet was a graduate of the Chambersburg Senior High class of 1957. She then went on to graduate from the Maryland Medical Secretarial School in 1958.
Throughout her working years she was employed by Dr. Ditmar, Smith Elliott Kearns & Company and eventually retired from Letterkenny Army Depot. After her retirement she worked several years at the Chambersburg Bon Ton. There she formed several friendships with co-workers and she always enjoyed interacting with customers.
Janet was a life-long member of the Greenwood Hills Gospel Chapel in Fayetteville, PA. She spent a lot of her early years as teenager working various jobs with the Bible Conference.
She was known for being such a sweet, kind and caring Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She was typically referred to as “a friend to all” and she will be deeply missed.
Janet enjoyed going to the beach, making crafts, gardening and canning. She had a special love of flowers as they always made her smile and brightened her day. She especially treasured the holidays spent with her family.
Janet is survived by her loving children, Richard L. (wife Deborha) Arnold of Shippensburg, Daniel E. (wife Linda) Arnold of Shippensburg, Deborah K. (husband John) Borzager of Chambersburg, and Linda R. (husband Brian) Kuffa of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Ryan Borzager, Jenna Borzager, Bradley Arnold, Tyler Kuffa, Carter Kuffa, Nicole Cluck, Shaina Bossler, Troy Porter, Dawn Ott and Amber Porter: a number of great-grandchildren, as well as cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Nancy McIntire and an infant sister Delores McIntire.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger- Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, PA with Mr. Jeff Nicklas officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
