Harvey W. Smith

Harvey W. Smith, 84, of Shippensburg, formerly of Shreveport, LA, passed away the morning of Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Celebration Villa of Shippensburg.

He was born on April 10, 1941 in Job, West Virginia, a son of the late George William and Annie Margaret (White) Smith.

Harvey retired from General Motors in Louisiana and was a United States Army Veteran. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and had a passion for classic cars. He loved going on cruises with his wife, Gerri, and was proud of the two pet squirrels he helped raise.

He is survived by two siblings, Mary Permelia of Shippensburg and Carol Pape of Maryland; two special nieces, Terra Adler and husband Scott of Hanover, and Chloe Rose Permelia of Shippensburg; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine June “Gerri” (Geisler) Smith, whom passed away on September 3, 2020.

A visitation for Harvey will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial. Interment will take place following the service at Forest Park East, 3700 St. Vincent Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.
