H. John Lindsay, Jr., 83, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Saturday, October 4, 2025 at his home.
He was born on June 11, 1942 in Newville, PA, a son of the late H. John and Bertha Marie (Hardy) Lindsay, Sr. He married Kathryn E. (Mixell) on June 3, 1962 in the Big Spring Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2020.
John worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for 33 years, retiring in 1995. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Walnut Bottom with his late wife, Kathryn. He was an active member of N.A.R.F.E. and for many years, traveled extensively with local members of the group. John also enjoyed painting and had a passion for fine arts.
He is survived by one son, Kirk E. Lindsay of Harrisburg; one daughter, Monica Bitner and husband Donald of Orrstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Harry Donald, Dorothy Louise, Betty Jane, Frederick Leroy, and James Edward.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Chaplain Ed Rabenstein will officiate. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
