Gordon S. Haney

Gordon S. Haney, 93, of Shippensburg, and formerly of Sciota, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Brookview Health Care Center, Chambersburg, PA.

Born Monday, August 8, 1932 in Stockertown, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley Graydon and Hilda Mae Remmel Haney.

Gordon was a 1951 graduate of Stroudsburg High School. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation, with 39 years of service.

He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg, and a lifelong member of the United Steel Workers of America Local # 2599.

Gordon owned and operated his own Christmas tree farm. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, boating on the lake, snowmobiling, and traveling with his wife Jeanette.

He is survived by two daughters, Marilynne K. (Chris) Wiederspahn, Sinking Spring and Laura L. (Robert) McCurdy, Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Matthew Wiederspahn, Sinking Spring, Allison (Cory) Wright, Shippensburg, Erika (Ethan Skurzynski) Rhinehart, Carlisle, Mitchell (Tessa) Rhinehart, Carlisle, and Hayden Rhinehart, Shippensburg; two great-grandchildren, Jameson Wright and Xera Wright, both of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette M. Foster-Kress Haney who passed away February 2, 2014; and two sisters, Orthea Serfass and Martha Kishbaugh.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360, with The Rev. George W. Heckard officiating. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
