Edna R. Stine, 93, of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023.
Born April 21, 1929 in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late John Orville Shields and Pearl Laura Coleman Shields.
Edna was a long time member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church of Shippensburg. She worked for many years at the Genesco Pants Factory and the Stanley Company. Edna, along with her husband, owned and operated a small grocery store/gas station next to their home on the Orrstown Road for a number of years. Later she co-founded Stine’s Ceramics. She enjoyed teaching ceramic classes and made numerous friendships that lasted throughout her life.
Her hobbies were paint-by-number and making ceramic dolls. She always looked forward to the family gatherings and love spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Stine, of 63 years, whom she married July 31, 1948.
She is survived by her two sons; Robert D. Stine (wife Debra) of Biglerville and Rodney L. Stine (wife Kay) of Huntington, IN; four grandchildren, Emily Stine of Enola, Kimberly Frantz (husband Ken) of Enola, Stefanie Crawford (husband Charlie) of Huntington, IN and Sarah Stine of Huntington, IN; three great grandchildren; Ethan Stine of Enola, and Elliot Frantz and Linken Frantz of Enola. One sister-in-law, Judy Stine of Shippensburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor John Shadle officiating. Burial will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, PA. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
