Douglas Charles Peterson

Douglas Charles Peterson, 72, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at his companion’s home in Shippensburg.

Born Saturday, June 13, 1953 in Cortland, NY, he was a son of the late John and Lela Fern Ames Peterson.

Doug was of the Baptist Faith. He worked at the Shippensburg Walmart as a Maintenance Associate with 21 years of service, where he loved working.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan and a Cleveland Browns fan. Doug enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Dawn E. Winters, Shippensburg; one son, Douglas J. (companion Gloria M. Rodarte) Peterson, Mercersburg; one daughter, Kimberly L. (Justin) Kulpak, Greencastle; one sister, Patricia (Miles) Standish, Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Tyler R. (Casey) Kulpak, Ayden R. Peterson, Peyton L. Kulpak, and Brodie M. Kulpak; two great grandchildren, Madalyn N. Kulpak, and Carson M. Gladhill; and his ex-wife and friend, Karen M. Peterson, Shippensburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Bisbee; and nephew, Michael Standish.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Mr. Douglas John Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
