Donald Raye Shaffer, Jr.

Donald Raye Shaffer, Jr., 78, of Shippensburg, departed this life on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his home.

He was born on November 9, 1947, in Everett, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Donald Raye and C. Eleanor (Ford) Shaffer, Sr.

Don was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Earlier in life he worked in supply at the Letterkenny Army Depot, but spent the majority of his life doing carpentry, painting, and handyman type of work.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie Shaffer of Brunswick, MD; brother, Michael R. Shaffer and wife Arlene of Orrstown; sister, Donna K. Ankney and husband Dennis of Shippensburg; two nieces; and two nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

His graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Military honors will be conducted by the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
