Diane Lee Ballance

Diane Lee Ballance, 63, of Shippensburg, departed this life and was delivered into the hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of Friday, October 10, 2025, at the UPMC West Shore Hospital.

She was born on January 6, 1962, in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of the late Ocie M. and Mary (McKeown) Ballance and was a 1981 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School.

In younger years, Diane worked at the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg, but spent the majority of her working life as a CNA at the Chambersburg Hospital.

Diane was a life long animal lover, and one of her passions throughout her life was rescuing and keeping horses. She and her son also volunteered for many years at a local dog rescue and animal shelter. Diane also enjoyed all types of bands and music, especially the Eagles. She was a very private and dedicated person who will be remembered for working hard at her job and her hobbies, and loved her family immensely.

Diane is survived by her son, Garrett H.C. Gibson of Shippensburg; her brother, Mark A. Ballance and wife Irene of Gig Harbor, WA; her sister, Cindy L. Neil and husband Gregory of Shippensburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Hannah Neil.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service.
