Denny Michael Varner

Denny Michael Varner, 56, of Chambersburg, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at his home, with his loving wife by his side.

Born Saturday, May 30, 1970 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Dolores Gonzales Varner, Orrstown, and the late Donald Meredith Varner.

He was a 1988 graduate of Fannett Metal High School. Denny was a United States Army Veteran serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom with over 17 years of service. He retired from Rife Martin Lynn Transport Inc. (RML), Orrstown, after 32 years of service.

Denny was a member of the James W. McCartney American Legion Post #232, Dry Run. He loved driving truck and running.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Deann Gail Alleman Varner, whom he married June 4, 2012; one son, Jamie Varner, Indianapolis, IN; one step-son, Jonathan Alleman, Shippensburg; one sister, Gail C. (Michael) Rosenberry, Lower Horse Valley; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, August 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Military honors will be conducted by the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 Minutemen, in the funeral home parking lot immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RML Transport Inc., 12940 Cumberland Highway, Orrstown, PA 17244.
