Della R. Besore

Della R. Besore, 86, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born Monday, February 6, 1939 in Robertsdale, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Jean Barber Duvall.

She was a graduate of the Robertsdale Senior High School.

Della retired from the James Burd Elementary School in Shippensburg, where she worked in the cafeteria with 30 years of service. She was a member of the former Evangelical Tabernacle Church in Shippensburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy J. (Brien) Hardy-Mikell; two step-daughters, Patricia (Philip) Mellott, and Bridget (Roger) Crouse; two step-sons, Donald and James Besore; one brother, Jay Rupert; two sisters, Geraldine Sites, and Judy Neville; three granddaughters, Amber (Warren) Scott, Baille Mikell, and Megan Hardy Singer; two great-granddaughters, Aryanna Sherman, and Alexyah Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Hardy; second husband, Arthur G. Besore; two sons, Faron Lee and Eddie Hardy; three sisters, Donna Griffith, Kay Williams, and Ruth Neville; and one brother, Johnny Duvall.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
