Dean E. Alleman, 75, of Greencastle, passed away the morning of Monday, April 6, 2026, at his home.
He was born on October 23, 1950, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Earl M. and Minerva M. (Eshelman) Alleman, Sr.
Dean worked at PennDot for 32 years and was the owner and operator of Dean Alleman Auctioneering for over 30 years. After his retirement from PennDot, he worked as a landscaper for Menno Haven. He was a member of Lurgan United Brethren Church and the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association. Dean also was a member of LSL Sportsmen’s Club in Orrstown and Patriotic Order Sons of America, Camp 645. He enjoyed hunting and racing, especially NASCAR.
He is survived by his second wife, Barbara K. (Miley) Alleman of Greencastle; one son, Troy Alleman of Shippensburg; two stepchildren, Michelle Bowers of Smithsburg, MD and Shaun Gibney of Waynesboro; six step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and four sisters, Jacqueline A. Alleman, Julia A. Diehl, Shirley K. Hammond, and Patricia F. Alleman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon L. (Brumbaugh) Alleman, who passed away on January 24, 2002. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Earl M. Alleman, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lurgan United Brethren Church with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. Burial will follow at Lurgan Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
